A site visit from a forester

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

At this visit a forester will walk your forest with you and help you identify resource concerns, such as stands at risk of wildfire, insect outbreak, or disease, and will explain management strategies to address those concerns. The visit will only take an hour or two, and can be arranged at any time convenient for you. CPRW will pay the cost of this initial site visit from a forester, as an incentive for you to take the next step, developing a forest management plan.

A forest management plan will lay out your goals for your property, as well as specific objectives to help you obtain those goals. It will include a full description of your land and the condition of your forest. With your management plan in hand, you and your forester can take steps toward managing your forest in service of your goals.

Opportunities to get informed

Our monthly e-newsletter informs you of events happening throughout the watershed and in your area that will help to educate you about healthy and resilient forests.

Throughout the year, CPRW hosts and sponsors events such as tours and hikes (forest and fire ecology, current projects, prescribed fires), pub talks, and community workshops discussing forest management.

A landowner forest restoration guide

(coming soon!)

A PLAN TO IMPROVE YOUR Forest

Coming soon, CPRW is developing a forest restoration guide targeted to landowners, which will include information on the current state of our forests, what it means to live in a fire-dependent ecosystem, and characteristics of a healthy and resilient forest. The guide will explain the forest restoration process, and will help you begin the management planning process by providing resources to find professional foresters and contractors who will work with you to achieve your forest ownership goals.

You can help us design this guide by responding to the following short survey - CLICK HERE
