St. Peter's Fly Shop Awarded 2023 "Dick Jefferies Partner for the Poudre Award"

Grant Houx, owner of St. Peter’s Fly Shop, accepts the "Dick Jefferies Partner for the Poudre Award" from CPRW Executive Director, Hally Strevey, at the Take Me to the River event on June 1, 2023.

To recognize our great partners and their contributions to the Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed (CPRW) and the Poudre River, CPRW established the "Dick Jefferies Partner for the Poudre Award" in 2022. This award is named after CPRW’s founder, Board Chair, and watershed champion, Dick Jefferies. In April 2022, Dick passed away after a battle with cancer.

“We were honored to present St. Peter's Fly Shop as the 2023 recipient of the Dick Jefferies Partner for the Poudre Award. St. Pete's is not only a staple local business in Fort Collins, but also a leading steward of our beloved Poudre River. We truly value St. Pete's as a partner and a friend in our watershed!” - Hally Strevey, CPRW Executive Director

This year, we were honored to award St. Peter’s Fly Shop with the award for their continued support of CPRW’s programs and projects. Last year, Grant Houx nominated CPRW for a $15,000 Patagonia Wholesale grant. We were awarded the grant, which has provided critical funding for our staff capacity in 2023. St Pete's has also supported CPRW through sales of River Collective stickers in their stores and through their Films for Fish event. In addition to fundraising support, St. Pete’s is always willing to help us get the word out about our work to their many social media followers. Over their 30 years as a local, Fort Collins-based business, St. Pete’s has shown a deep love for the Poudre River and a commitment to the health and resilience of the watershed. Thank you, St. Pete’s!
