2026 Livermore Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) Now Available

The 2026 Livermore Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) is the first district-wide plan for Livermore Fire Protection District (LFPD). It addresses a changing landscape by considering wildfire risk, home construction, and other community characteristics. The plan includes a wildfire risk analysis, prioritization of mitigation activities, and recommendations for implementation. For the purpose of this CWPP, LFPD was divided into 11 plan units for comparing relative risk across LFPD and making specific recommendations to address wildfire risk and increase emergency preparedness.

Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs) help communities assess local hazards, identify strategic investments to reduce wildfire risk, and promote preparedness at both the individual and community levels. The planning process also supports fire operations during wildfire events and helps residents prioritize mitigation actions. In addition, many grant programs require an approved CWPP, making the plan an essential tool for securing funding for fuel reduction and other projects.
