A day of community-based restoration on the Poudre River
The Poudre River is an important natural resource for Northern Colorado, supporting drinking water supplies, local communities, wildlife, and healthy ecosystems. Through this project, ContourGlobal employees and community volunteers will work side by side on restoration and erosion-control activities that help protect water resources, restore local habitat, and strengthen the long-term health and resilience of the watershed.
Date: November 6, 2026
Time: 10am-3pm
Meeting location: Archery Range (465 Poudre trail drive, Windsor, 80550). Carpooling is encouraged!
About the project: This volunteer project will involve removal and restoration of stormwater protection and riparian infrastructure. Volunteers can expect a moderate walk along the Poudre trail to the project location, lifting and carrying of stormwater project infrastructure including willow and straw waddles, and spreading of landscape materials. Post-project may involve a short Poudre Trail tour depending on timing.
Volunteers should bring: water, lunch, gloves, weather appropriate clothes, closed toed shoes
CPRW will provide: extra water, extra gloves, work tools and materials, snacks

About ContourGlobal and the Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed (CPRW) Partnership
At ContourGlobal, we are proud to be part of the communities where we operate and committed to creating a positive impact that goes beyond the clean energy we produce.
Building Reliable Partnerships is one of our sustainable business principles and drives the way we work alongside local communities.
Through our Black Hollow Sun power plant in Weld County, we are proud to partner with the Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed (CPRW) on the Poudre River Watershed Restoration & Community Volunteer Project—an initiative that brings together environmental restoration, water protection, and community action.
This partnership reflects ContourGlobal’s commitment to being a responsible neighbor, protecting the environment and natural resources, and contributing to the communities where we live and work. Our environmental stewardship is also demonstrated through our membership in the Proteus Partnership for Biodiversity, an initiative supported by the United Nations Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) that helps partners align business decisions with global environmental frameworks.
We are excited to roll up our sleeves, work alongside the local community, and make a meaningful and lasting contribution to the Poudre River watershed.
