To recognize our great partners and their contributions to the Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed (CPRW) and the Poudre River, we established the "Dick Jefferies Partner for the Poudre Award" in 2022. This award is named after CPRW’s founder, Board Chair, and watershed champion, Dick Jefferies. In April 2022, Dick passed away after a battle with cancer.
At this year’s Take Me to the River fundraiser we were excited to award Odell Brewing Company with the 2025 Dick Jefferies Partner for the Poudre Award.
“Odell has been a partner to CPRW for over a decade. They have volunteered with us on post-fire projects after the 2012 High Park Fire as well as the 2020 Cameron Peak Fire. We spent long hours on steep hillslopes together moving rocks and trees to stabilize gulleys. We’ve been planting ponderosa pine trees with them since 2021 in both burn areas. Over the years, Odell has contributed funding to CPRW through their Community Tips and their Small Batch Festival, and they’ve always supported our events by donating their delicious beer and wine.
We organize an annual river clean-up with Odell every April, and this year was our largest volunteer group yet. With partners like Odell, we are able to make a meaningful and lasting impact on our watershed. We are lucky to have Odell in our community as a watershed champion.” - Hally Strevey, CPRW Executive Director
Staff from Odell Brewing Co. join CPRW for a day of tree planting in the Poudre Canyon. Together, we have planted thousands of trees in areas negatively impacted by high severity wildfires.
