About the HIZ MAP

The Home Ignition Zone Mitigation Assistance Program (HIZ MAP) is a structured program that helps eligible homeowners reduce their wildfire risk through defensible space and vegetation management work on their property. The program covers contractor coordination and implementation of property-specific work, developed in partnership with you.

1. Schedule & Complete a Free Home Ignition Zone Assessment

Contact your local fire protection district to schedule a free assessment:
Cherokee Meadows: Livermore Fire — livermorefireco.gov
Poudre Canyon: Poudre Canyon Fire Protection District — poudrecanyonfiredistrict.org
Crystal Lakes: Crystal Lakes Fire Protection District — crystallakesfireco.gov
Glacier View: Email gvfpd.faca@gmail.com to schedule

2. Determine Eligibility for HIZ MAP

Your property must be privately owned, located within one of the participating communities, and have a completed Home Ignition Zone Assessment. Primary residences, secondary/seasonal homes, and renter-occupied properties may all qualify.

3. Apply to HIZ MAP

Once your assessment is complete, apply to the HIZ MAP program. Eligible community members can receive up to $4,000 worth of work for wildfire mitigation on qualifying properties within the project areas.

Please note: Applying does not guarantee assistance. This program supports defensible space and vegetation management work, but does not cover home-hardening improvements such as roofing, vents, or gutters.
