Rocky Mountain Flycasters Awarded the 2026 Dick Jefferies Partner for the Poudre Award
To recognize our great partners and their contributions to the Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed (CPRW) and the Poudre River, we established the "Dick Jefferies Partner for the Poudre Award" in 2022. This award is named after CPRW’s founder, Board Chair, and watershed champion, Dick Jefferies. In April 2022, Dick passed away after a battle with cancer.
At this year’s Take Me to the River fundraiser we were excited to award Rocky Mountain Flycasters - Trout Unlimited with the 2026 Dick Jefferies Partner for the Poudre Award.
“Rocky Mountain Flycasters - Trout Unlimited has been a dedicated partner in caring for the Poudre Watershed. In fact, they were one of the founding members of CPRW after the 2012 High Park and Hewlett Gulch wildfires. Dick Jefferies was on our board for many years and helped ensure our initial success as an organization.
Rocky Mountain Flycasters continued commitment to healthy rivers, fish habitat, education, stewardship, and collaboration reflects the very heart of this award.
Their work reminds us that a healthy river supports so much more than water. It supports wildlife, recreation, community, and future generations who will love to not only fish this river but depend on this watershed.
We are grateful for their partnership, their leadership, and their continued commitment to the Poudre.”
